Here's just a few changes we've seen in the past 50-100 years:

Most of the foods consumed in our society are refined and processed, which adds a heavy load to our internal systems. Without the proper nutrients and fiber to keep us healthy, the body's systems become unable to efficiently remove toxins and keep a healthy environment. Exercise: Just do it! Easy to say, more difficult to follow-through. A key mistake people make is in creating an exercise plan that isn't fun or doesn't incorporate their key values. For instance, if you love being with people, explore exercise avenues that will let you spend quality time with others: yoga classes, aerobics, etc. If you have a family, family games are a great way to keep everyone fit and spend quality time together. Be creative, try some new acitivities, keep it exciting and do what you love! Create a plan that is fun and that you can keep up as a lifestyle! Schedule when you will do it, and focus on the benefit. Its not just losing weight, its about feeling better, and becoming vibrantly alive! Keep it fun!
Stress: Stress is a contributing factor in 80% of our degenerative diseases. The body responds to threat (real or imagined) by causing the fight or flight response. However, when we feel this response, duking it out with the boss or running from the desk are generally not good options. Instead, we sit there at the desk, and try to calm the nerves while we have all this adrenaline pumping through the veins. Exercise is a great way to release this chemical response. Meditation exercises are also a great avenue for helping the body restore its equilibrium, and flush the toxins of stress. The fast pace of society and our to do lists also keeps us in the busy mind. I highly recommend some form of quiet reflection time such as journaling, focusing exercise, or meditation. Meditation and hypnosis work very similarly, changing the brainwave pattern to a slower/more organized pattern which opens up creativity and focus. Benefits of meditation/hypnosis include lowering the blood pressure, feelings of deep relaxation, and well-being. Take Breaks: Typically, we spend hours at the office focusing on work. The brain only pays attention for 1-1 1/2 hrs. Take a few 10 min. breaks to move, socialize, and give your mind a rest. Even 10 min. of a light meditation offers a calming and quick treat.
Health Psychology: Your mental framework has a lot to do with your health, even more than you might think! Stress can affect our health through our nervous system. The fight or flight response activated with stress channels the body's energy away from digestion and toward the muscles. Blood moves from the brain to the lungs and muscles, which means we think less clearly. In sessions, we can ask your deeper mind to identify any psychological blocks you may have toward healing. Once we remove these obstacles, the body responds better to treatment, and begins to heal itself. Health insight sessions can help you identify the unconscious blocks keeping you from health, whether weight loss, chronic illness, body malfunctions, abnormalities, compromised systems and digestion, just to name a few.
